FOD

     FOD ‘Foreign Object Debris’ or ‘Foreign Object Damage’ is debris,
     a substance or article alien to a vehicle or system that has
     potential to cause damage.

     This terminology was born in aviation where FOD on an airfield or
     in a hangar can have catastrophic consequences. However FOD
     should be eliminated in any industry where important procedures
     are taking place.

     A simple way of limiting the potential for FOD within organisations is
     to visually control tooling, instruments and components by the means
     of VMT’s CICO system products.

     This method uses visual impact to highlight when a condition is abnormal
      i.e. all tools, instruments or components are not accounted for.
